Was watching TV and on-line at the same time, channel surf and chance upon TV 2 showing Lord of The Rings (The Two Towers). One of my all time favourite movies. So end up stuck to the TV and getting engrossed to it. Though I had like watched the series at least 3 times.

One of my favourite character in the series will be the handsome elf Legolas played by Orlando Bloom. I must said he is seriously handsome man!! The character he played at LOTR is also cool.

Haaa… well heres a pic of him as Legolas in LOTR

Ohh… Almost forgotten something, had received an email today at work from our HR, that we have to clear our outstanding leave before the next financial year. So logged in to my e-leave and realised that I got 9.5 days to clear by Sept if not it will be forfeited. Even my HR was shocked when I went to clarify with her on how many days I must clear. Actually to date I have like 13.5 days and I can only bring forward 4 days till March 08. So right now, planning to take like the whole week leave next week, since its the school holidays and will expect less calls or queries from our Library Assistants. But the problem will be to find things to do for that whole week, guess will be hibernating for the week then. Arh.. it will be a good time to start visiting all my VIPs and maybe can even go manja with my grandma, since its been awhile since I spend time with her and taste her cooking.

Well, I guess it will be a good time to do some catching up/cleaning up and reading up.

SLR camera vs Compact camera

Was in one of the sec school helping out in an activity organised by our company. I had volunteered to be the photographer since it will be a good chance for me to practice on my photography skills with my trusty Canon Ixus 60. Haaa… then saw my colleague with his Panasonic Lemux camera, and I was like.. wah.. my Ixus got competitor liao. But hack care lah, since its about the skills so just pretend not to see his camera.

Upon reaching the school my colleague and I start walking round taking photos, I think even the school teachers also felt threaten by us, since both of us from the same company but going round taking photos like crazy. So she actually ask one of the teachers to also take some photos. Best thing was, she actually came into the AVA room with her camera, and it was those older camera working on films, and she was like, smiling at us when she see us with our digital camera. I think she kind of sense the weird look from the students and us, so she called in reinforcement. Then this malay lady came into the AVA room with a SLR camera. I was like… Wah!! No need so fierce right… we just play play only no need to bring out such a pro camera what.

I was telling my colleague with the Panasonic Lemux, and he was like, chey… got SLR but cannot take photo also no use. Well to be frank, from the way she take photos, can really see that she is really not so good with camera. But since we are guest, so have to be humble.

But I must say the teachers from the school seem much relief after seeing their staff walking around taking photos with their SLR. Anyway.. glad that the whole event was ok. Everyone had fun, especially the few of us walking around with camera taking photos.

Long break

Well.. Well… almost as expected, my blog almost went into a slient death. Lucky got this blog motivator to get me started after taking such a long long break. Haa… must thank my ’shifu’ sharon for getting me started on blogging.

Anyway… things have been pretty interesting throughout the month of August, first is the completion of the most ’siong’ semster of the whole dip course at TP. With 2 calculation subjects to handle (Biz Finance & Stats), it really drive me up the wall!!

Of course with that I also managed to come to conclusion that I am indeed not a number person. Somehow numbers and me don’t kind of mix. Especially after putting in the hardwork and yet the results are not so encouraging. Though I must said interest does plays a part too cos somehow during those lessons the chances of zoning out is rather high. But at least the exams are over, will have to wait till end Sept to know the outcome.

As for now, I must said this sem is good, cos got one of my fav subject, Law! (Legal aspect of business). Another interesting sub is Entrepreneurship. Basically its about doing business, but I was telling my friends that I will never make it as an entrepreneur as I seriously got problem trying to get the spelling of that word right. Cos during the first lesson, the lecturer was asking us what we hope to achieve out of this lesson, and I had to spend like 5 mins trying to get the spelling  right, with at least 3 cancellations on the word.

Also August is the month I celebrate my birth, as usual not in the habit of celebrating it, so just had a simple meal at home. But best of all, this year my grandma and 2 cousins came over. So quite nice to have them around. Especially grandma. Somemore in the morning, mum cooked mee suah for me!! Should have taken photo of the nice bowl of mee suah, with mince pork balls, pork liver, mushrooms, fishball, egg and dried scallop. Wah.. thinking of it now makes me hungry again. Well sis bought cake for the occassion, cos grandma insist that must have cake for me. So theres how my birth month was spent, morning nice bowl of mee suah, afternoon at school having lesson, and evening dinner with cake as dessert.

So thats basically the highlight of August. Of course there is also some career movement that is on the way, perhaps should put it in when things are more firm up. But well… August sure is a month I will always love!!
