Female
September 29, 2008 at 10:14 pm | In Anything Whatever | Leave a CommentJust saw this comic strip and can’t help laughing. Remember used to get freaked out by this lady dentist in my Primary School. Somehow they are those that made us have very bad impression of dentist during our growing up days.
My perception of dentist changed when I had to visit one after my secondary school days, though it started out with the regular visits to the polyclinic ones where lucky me, I always tend to get female dentist. Slowly it progress to visiting those private dentist due to the long waiting time at polyclinics. That was where I first experience what is like to be paying for service. That changed my whole perception of regular dental visits. Till now, I always make it a point to ensure I had at least 1 dental check-up per year, if possible 2.
Anyway.. back to the topic of having female dentist or doctor… I guess I had my fair share of good female doctors and dentist in my 27 years of life (of course there might be more in the many years to come). The one that I really remembered the most is Dr Liew G C, my eye specialist. Now that she has start her own private practice at Mount E medical center, don’t think I can afford to see her now.
My regular eye check-up appointment was one that I looked forward to annually. She will always remind me of the risks I am facing and what I should do, should the worse happen to my eyes. Haa.. her favourite phrase, “Go to A&E and tell them you need to see Dr Liew immediately.” Of course, thank goodness, all these while my 2 twinkling eyes have been good and there is no need for me to go A&E for that purpose. Still remembered the day, she handed my case to another specialist as she is leaving TTSH. Though I told her that, I am willing to transfer my case to her, but she had assured me of the care I will be getting from the other specialist as well. Basically she knows its not right for her to be ‘poaching’ the hospital patients like that, and also she knows it is not necessary for me to spend that much just for some routine annual check-up.
Anyway, had managed to find out her current place of practice. But don;t think theres any need for me to see her or the specialist at TTSH at this point. Though at least I know where to look for her now should the need arises.
Ok.. Heres the comic strip for your viewing pleasure.
Complicated
September 27, 2008 at 1:24 am | In Anything Whatever | Leave a CommentBeen wondering how come things are so complicated…. Had always remember one of this sentence that I can’t remember where I got it from. It goes like this – “Human minds are the most complex system in the world, and that make us the most complicated creature in this world.”
I guess I totally agreed with this sentence, somehow we can never know what the other party is thinking when he/she does something or say something.
Because of that, things get complicated and everyone starts to get edgy and before you know it, everyone’s mind will be clouded.
How I wished you were here, my Shifu Mr C. Though I can pretty much guessed the advice you will be giving me.
Oh What a Day…
September 24, 2008 at 11:12 pm | In Anything Whatever | Leave a CommentBeen a happening day today. First I was greeted by a flicking light at my office area that almost turn the counter area into a mini disco. Then the pipe on the ceilings decide to take a pee on the ceiling partition at one part of the library. The peeing worsen and it starts to spread to other area as well. Then I realised that one of my guy pulled another stunt on me and I think I also over-reacted abit….cos I gave him a 2 round of heavy bombardment (must be the weather).
So the day was kind of spoilt becos of the few happenings at the start of the day. But lucky, the day was saved at noon when I saw Yappy. As he has a few workshops running these few days in AFS. So managed to say Hi to him and updated him briefly on my latest development. Had told him that I will like to meet him up for a chat with him, as there is something that I believe he should be able to give me some advice.
Then got to hear some news that had me feeling amazed of what youngsters nowadays are doing. Foolish shit to pull I must say. May the force be with those senseless pea brainers….
Just managed to come online and saw something interesting, seems like the net has been a place for messages to be sent and to be decrypted . Don’t know what to say or how to put it… Perhaps this pic of my idol – Stephen Chow will best describe what I am feeling now.
Great Learning Stuffs
September 23, 2008 at 11:16 pm | In Anything Whatever | Leave a CommentHad attended a workshop orgainsed by LAS. Its this Image Workshop by Jill Lowe. Actually had heard of this lady before during one of the courses I attended. So since there is an opportunity for us to attend her workshop at such a good rate. Quickly grabbed the chance.
Filled with anticipation, the workshop turned out to be very enriching. Despite it being scheduled as a 1.5 hour workshop, she had extended it to almost 2 full hours. During the workshop, she shared alot of things we didn;t know that has an association to image. How things can fail because one is not mindful of their own image and bearings.
She can even show us how with just a few accessories (a handbag, a necklace that she used as belt and a pair of shoes), she herself can transform from an attractive lady to a rather aunty looking lady.
Personally, I do find Jill Lowe to be a very humble person, despite her being the boss of a large business. The way she does her sharing is also very interesting and in a very jovial manner. Somehow she has this air of attractiveness that can capture people’s attention.
Great day of learning today I must say. Its too bad that the workshop is abit short, perhaps can consider enrolling to one of her workshop for men. As I can claim back the fees using one of the benefits given to me.
Well… just to do a little advertising for her, since she is really good with what she is sharing. So her website below.

Have fun!!
A Night’s Out
September 21, 2008 at 10:56 pm | In Anything Whatever | Leave a CommentHad a night’s out with the youngsters from my workplace. Basically its a night out for dinner and then clubbing. Since a few of them were quite new to the clubbing scene. So decide to go over to Liang Court there for dinner and then procced to Clark Quay for a night of drinking and partying.
I would say, its nice to hang out with the group of youngsters. Not that they are making me feel young, but perhaps a more sinister way to put it, will be to introduce the youngsters to the world of drinking and partying. Well not that I am a hardcore party animal or drinker, but I guess I had my fair share of drinking and partying some time back. So its always nice to have people who can chill out over drinks after work.
Went over to China One for starters before proceeding to Attica for the ‘main-course’. As M had managed to secure 2 free bottle of champagn due to Attica having this September Birthday Bash event. All thanks to J, for being such a VIP at Attica that, he brought us all up to Attica Too, a seperate dance floor located at level 2 of Attica. That place is usually for the I would say high-spenders of Attica and even their regulars and VIPs. Thus it sure was great night out. Since it was also my first time being up to Attica Too. As previously I only went to Attica like twice.
The night ended with us proceeding to the river bank along Clark Quay to cut the cake for our 2 brithday youngsters.
It sure was nice to see everyone having fun and the night was full of laughter from everyone, tons of photo-taking and even played some crazy game. Wonderful memories for me, especially since it was just a few months the youngsters had been attached to my department as we had managed to build up should great relationship among each other.
Bintan Trip
September 16, 2008 at 11:01 pm | In Anything Whatever | Leave a CommentJust came back from my short Bintan trip today. Overall quite a nice relaxing trip with HM, CS and CS’s GF, totally just relax and do nothing. Basically its watch TV, then look for food and walk around, then watch TV, then sleep.
As this Nirwana Resort that we will be staying has like 4 different types of accomadation, what HM got was the Banyu Beru (which means blue water) villa, a 2-storey bungalow. The whole area is very quiet, abit of the country feel and really give you the relax feeling.
One thing to note is that, the service level of the staffs at the resort is very good. They are very friendly and helpful, from the bell-boys to the staffs at the information counter and even the buggy driver. Very great service. On numerous occasions when we were looking at the schedule of shuttle buses and ferries, they will come over and asked where we would like to go and advised us on the timing and stuffs. Very pro-active level of service. Thats one of the thing that I was impressed about for the trip.
The nice part about the trip is that the scenery of the place. Especially on Monday evening when we went over to the Kelong Resturant for dinner. As it was the sun set timing, we could see a very nice soft orange from the sky, plus the nice sea breeze make the whole dining experience even more enjoyable.
However the bad thing was the place despite being a Indonesia island, it uses Sing Dollar.. Which kind of remind me of shopping back home. Furthermore being a tourist island, the things there are more expensive. that further reduce any advantages our stronger Sing Dollar has among the Asean countries. So overall spending has not been any difference (perhaps even more) than we would in Singapore.
Had taken some pictures of the whole trip, will post them up once I transfer them to the laptop from my digi camera.
Stay tune for the pictures eh…
Wedding No.4
September 10, 2008 at 12:43 am | In Anything Whatever | Leave a CommentJust came back from my friend’s wedding dinner. The 4th one that I had attended this year. Would have been 5, if not for one that I had to miss due to some reason.
Feeling full and abit sleepy, perhaps due to the effect of the red wine. Had lost count the number of glasses I had drank for the evening. But at least it had satisfied my alcohol intake quota for this week.
The food was good and the company at the table was nice too, even though a few of them are of the older age but they can still joke and have fun with us youngsters. Of course, being at a wedding, the singles personnel will not be spared with the million dollar question of ” When is your turn huh?”
I have friends who can get quite irriated when pose with this question. For me, I prefer to treat the question as a joke and reply back in a joking manner. Afterall, this is something that cannot be rush. So chill man…
Glad that WS and HF had found their happiness, and am honour to be sharing their special day with them as well.
Finally it’s here!!!
September 4, 2008 at 11:57 pm | In Anything Whatever | Leave a CommentGot my result slip for last semester today. To think they actually sent us the wrong one yesterday, as it shows our first semester results.
So eagerly opened the red slip, personally was expecting better grades for the last 2 subjects. As during the last lesson, we had roughly known most of the grades for the various components and my group had done pretty well.
After opening the slip, was happy to see the grades. As the long awaited A grade is here again!! Got an A for my Customer Relationship Management, and B for Sales Management. Finally another A grade to add to my list of Bs, Cs and Ds…
Lets hope for this last 2 subjects (HRM) can also get such good grades as a finale for this course.
No Sups
September 3, 2008 at 8:00 am | In Anything Whatever | Leave a CommentFinally the long awaited results for last semester is out. Well the good news is, none of us in the class are taking any sup paper.
It was kind of an expected result though, as we were all pretty confident that we will go through last semester without any hiccups. Perhaps now the buzz will be our individual grades, which we should be receiving it by post within this few days.
Now that we are in the very last semester for our course, so far things are still pretty much a breeze for us taking the HR module. However the same can’t be said for those taking Finance module. Anyway I believe those folks at the finance class will be able to pull through.
