The Caring Bus-Driver
December 17, 2008 at 10:30 pm | In Anything Whatever | Leave a CommentBeen taking the private bus from this old uncle almost daily when I go to work. Always find him to be a such a great driver, thus decide to post a blog on him.
His a very nice and friendly man, will always keep a look-out for the regulars of his bus taker, in case we missed the bus. He will also asked where I go if I hasn’t take the bus for a few days as well.
He is also caring, cos whenever I alight from the bus, he will always tell me. Walk slowly arh, be careful and watch the road. Then on raining days, he will also asked if I got an umbrella with me.
The funny part about him is that, sometimes he like to turn the air-con up in the bus to full-blast, which will make the bus very cold. Then he also got a habit of frequent switching the radio station on his bus, especially in the evening. He can switch from fm93.3 to 95.8 to 97.2
However I must said, without him I will have to travel a longer hour to work and to squeeze with the morning crowds in train. So for him and his trusty bus that not only ensure I get to work on time and get home fast, I also get to have a comfort bus ride to and fro work.
Shopping Spree
December 12, 2008 at 11:07 pm | In Anything Whatever | Leave a CommentHad planned to just get 2 pairs of pants for work, as the one I had is getting old. So decide to go over to G2000 to get them, since I had bought almost all my office wear from them. So went over to the branch at Bugis, since I also need to check out something there as well.
Things were going as planned, very focus. Went straight to the G2000 shop and start looking around for suitable pair of pants. Selected, tried and then got the shop assistant to take measurements as there is a need to alter the length. So after getting the pants, was supposed to be checking the thing out, but end up what I wanted to see wasn;t there. So decide to head down to get a new shaver. Thats where I drifted and ended up at this CD shop, cos I wanted to check out the latest Enya album.
While in the CD shop, instead of finding Enya, I found Celine Dion instead. There is a new compilation of some of her best works, so listen to the album at the listening post in the shop and I start to like the album. Was almost going to purchase it, when I remember my favourite CD shop, That CD Shop kind of have a bundle deal on that album. So immediately head down to the nearest That CD Shop branch at Raffles City to confirm my assumption.
Yes!! I was so right. The particular Celine Dion album was part of this 3 for $49.90 bundle deal, whats more.. The album That CD Shop has is a 2 CD compilation instead of just 1 CD which I saw earlier. So its like a good deal to get it. But then I need to find 2 more CDs to enjoy the 3 for $49.90 deal. Thats where Enya came into the picture. Since her new album is also one of the CD that qualifies for the bundle deal. So decide to listen to the CD first and see how is it. Well, nothing that interesting… its very Enya style of music and singing, pretty tune in to the white christmas mood and at times sounded abit like the church music. But decide to get it anyway, since I can be consider quite a Enya fan.
Now that I have 2 CDs, I need one more to complete the deal. Now, thats where Kenny G come in handy. Again there is a compilation of his works and I had always wanted to have another Kenny G album to add on to my CD collection. So its only right that I get him as well, so as to complete the whole deal.
So total cost for 3 CDs, $49.90. When they break up the individual cost of the CD, each cost only $16+. Much cheaper than it would be if I had just bought them individually.
Realizing that time is running out, and I am also getting hungry as I have dinner waiting for me at home. So decide to quickly get the shaver and head home. Then realised that my facial wash had run out. So have to make a turn on the way home to get it. As I remembered there is a shop that sells all these beauty stuffs cheaper than what the retail shops are selling, thus decide to get my facial wash there. Since it is cheaper. As expected, it really cost cheaper, cos there is still a 22% discount from the price tag. So my that facial wash cost me $20+
Totaling up my purchase for the night. I had spent like $200 in total, below are my purchases for tonight. 2 pair of pants, 1 pair of socks, 1 shaver, 3 CDs and 1 facial wash. Looking at what I purchase, seems like I had bought a lot of things. Well… though it may be a bit of a rush shopping cos it wasn’t a planned trip, but at least I had bought some of the essential things I need. Now, must find the time to go check out the thing that I am suppose to check out. Haiz… another not so cheap thing to get.
United Nation Peacekeeper
December 8, 2008 at 10:49 pm | In Anything Whatever | Leave a CommentSince today being a public holiday, so had planned to have a good sleep till the late morning. Furthermore the weather was good, raining since morning, so its a very chilling morning. Good to be snuggle up on bed. So I was like enjoying the sleep until I was awaken by this little commotion in the living room.
Was awaken by this little rather agitated conversation and dialogue between the Queen of my house and the Empress of the Ong’s Household.
So have to drag myself out from bed, washed up and took on the role of a Peacekeeper. It sure was tough trying to calm 2 emo ladies down first before helping my Empress to see things from another perspective. Really reminds me of those UN Peacekeepers.
So started my day becoming a Peacekeeper. Happening!!!
The Outing
December 6, 2008 at 12:58 am | In Anything Whatever | Leave a CommentHad arranged an outing with the folks from my workplace. The plan was to meet up together for dinner, and maybe drinks after that.
Have to admit, it sure was tedious trying to inform everyone, getting a date that everyone is agreeable and then the venue and other details. However, thanks to Facebook, can just sent a message to everyone and it become a thread where everyone can view and comments.
The initial plan was to settle for this Japanese buffet dinner where they have a dual usage pan where it can be used to ‘cook’ ice-cream, as the temperature can be adjusted accordingly. However due to some last minute input and suggestions, we decide to go Billy Bombers instead.
Dinner was great at Billy Bombers. Service from the staffs there were great!! As usual, their trademark of delicious food with generous servings.
It was a good outing, despite some minor hiccups before that. However considering that our last meet up was quite some time back. So its nice to have a get-together again, since in another weeks time, 3 of the ladies in the group will be ‘married off’ to the East for further training.
Really hoped that we will be able to meet up often for such gathering and dinner session. Since its a matter of time before the group members will start to be disperse and everyone will be embarking on a new journey in their life.
Best Wishes to one and all in our Exclusive Club House.
