Lost

I wonder is it just me or does such feelings happened to everyone as well. Its a feeling where you feel hungry and your mind start to make order of what to eat, however the feeling will change from a hungry person to a confused person upon reaching the hawker center/coffee-shop/market where you are faced with lots of choices to the extend you don’t know what to eat.

Well, it happened to me again today. Had went over to Chinatown to pick up some samples from my friend who is doing T-Shirt, so decide to have dinner before heading over to my association for meeting. Had initially wanted to have Subway Sandwich, but figured that shouldn’t waste the trip to go over to Habourfront just for a sandwich, and later still need to take a bus down to my association.

So decide to head over to the market at Chinatown to find dinner. My gosh…. I didn’t know the market is so big after the renovation. Big to the extend after walking around a few times, I am still not able to see all the stores. Of course what follows after these is where I am put into a state of confusion and lost, the don’t know what to eat feeling came in, combined with the I want to eat this, this, this and this feeling just doesn’t help in the situation. Because everything just seem so nice, despite most of the food there are those typical hawker food. But bearing in mind that it is Chinatown, supposedly one of the place where most good food are located.

Well, ended up settling for a fried spring roll and mixed-vegetable rice. The fried spring roll is nice. One is not enough for sure, but then I do not want to overeat for dinner. So just bought 1 fried spring roll to go with my mixed vegetable rice, washed it down with fresh fruit juice of  Orange Carrot. That settled my dinner for the day. Had never felt so tired before just walking around a market.

Ohh… and I did something naughty today. Was at Orchard to source for some DVDs, as I wanted to go over to the Kinokuniya at Taka, so decide to jaywalk across from Lucky Plaza. While waiting, this old man approach me. He asked me a very cute question.

Old Man: “Can we cross to the opposite from here? or are we suppose to use the traffic light?”

For a moment I was stunted with the question, but I just told him

Me: “Oh.. Legally we are not supposed to, but illegally we just do it.”

Old Man: “Oh.. so long as there’s no policeman opposite we can just crossed?”

Me: “Yah… and no worries, the police are hardly around.”

So following which I actually asked him to follow me, and I guided him across the road and we bid our farewell once we reach the pathway at Taka side.

Well… technically I did helped an old man crossed the road, just that we do it the illegal way. Good deed done?? You be the judge.
