Search and Rescue

Was playing game when Mum had shouted for me from the kitchen. So went over to see what she wants or what happen. That’s where I realised that while she was cleaning the tank for the 2 turtle at home, the big one kind of slipped into the toilet bowl. That caused her to be in panicky mode, and I was asked to fish for the turtle in the toilet bowl.

So I put my hand into the toilet bowl and start feeling for it. Frankly its quite freaking as that’s my first time putting my hand into the toilet bowl and start fishing. I mean who in the world will put their hand into the toilet and start feeling the interior of the toilet bowl….

So the initial search did not produce any result.. perhaps sub-consciously I was also feeling anxiety with what I will get while trying to feel for the turtle. So I concluded that the turtle is gone and call off the search.

Of course Mum was feeling sad about causing the ‘death’ of the turtle. So she finished up what she wanted to do and decide to go for her shower. That’s where another shout from her came, apparently she saw the feet of the turtle and I was activated again to conduct another search and rescue.

Again my hand was put into the toilet bowl and start feeling for it. Well, this time round I managed to see the feet of the turtle and perhaps it was also frighten, so the turtle kept on trying to kept it’s feet back.. This had made the whole rescue operation complicated, as the nails of the feet is kind of poky.. So I requested for a plastic bag to cover my hand as that will make pulling it out easier.

So wrapping my hand with a plastic bag, again I start feeling for the turtle. Luckily I managed to feel for the feet and abit of the shell.  Now is to get a good grip of it’s body part to pull it out. Tried the edge of the shell but it was too slippery and too little surface for me to grip. Then I managed to grip on to one of it’s leg and that’s where I tried to pull it out. Thank goodness with the plastic bag on, I can’t feel the poky edge from the nail and managed to pull it out of the toilet bowl.

The turtle was all curled up into it’s shell and upon placing it on the toilet floor, it start to run in fright. So Mum pick it up, gave it a good wash and a quick reprimand. That ended the whole search and rescue operation with me washing my hand with soap and resume my game play.

For me, it was an interesting event, especially feeling the interior of the toilet. I bet the turtle must also had an interesting encounter too… If only I can get it to share it’s feelings. I would like to know what it looked like inside the toilet bowl.
