Nose

Finally after years of procrastination, I decided to make an appointment for a review at the ENT Clinic for a follow-up check on my Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).

It has been like 5 years since I went for the operation to try to sort out the issue, but sadly even after the op, the OSA issue wasn’t resolved. So that’s where I decided to stop going for any follow-up until recently where a friend actually suggested getting all my ailments checked again.

So finally went over to see the specialist yesterday and as expected, got a scope done and had to go for another sleep study test to see how bad or good my OSA condition is.

Had already gone through those procedures before, so I had kind of anticipated what to expect. Perhaps the only difference will be having the Sleep Study done at NUH instead of my usual Tan Tock Seng Hospital, since the medical center I go to is link to NUH.

Now that the Nose follow-up is in process, next on the list should be the eyes…. It’s also another long overdue check-up that need to be done.

Seems like its back to collecting appointment cards from the various clinics and medical centers again.

The Night of Drinking

Had attended one of the best wedding dinner on Saturday, the wedding of my nephew (my cousin’s son). It has been a while since we had a joyous occasion from any of our relatives, so this wedding was one of the major event everyone (my maternal side of the family) is looking forward to.

It had been a while since we are able to gather all the relatives together, elders and juniors. So the wedding dinner had provided such a platform for us to gather. It’s real nice to see everyone coming together, young and old.

So what started out as casual drinking during the dinner soon ended up with intense drinking, especially my cousins and I were trying to get our nephews to drink. So before we know it, we start ‘challenging’ each other to drink and doing the ‘Yam Seng’ toast, even after the actual ‘Yam Seng’ toasting is over.

The most memorable part of the toasting is perhaps when all of us, the cousins, together with our nephews gathered to do a toast together. That really was a very memorable moment.

Well… The after-effect of the whole crazy toasting, all of us went home either feeling high or in some cases, drunk.

Couch-Potato

Spent the last 2 days ‘chasing’ drama series online. Haven’t felt so much of a couch-potato for a long time.

One of my all time favourite movie, The Rock, was shown on TV during the Public Holiday. Very nice plot and of course, good actors!!! Sean Connery and Nicholas Cage. That was the first show I had watched on Laser Disc (The big disc before VCD). Despite it being a show of more than 10 years, I still got captivated by the show and will be glued to the screen.

Was chasing this Hong Kong drama on Forensic Science and how it helps in solving crimes. Well… being Hong Kong produced drama, they are always able to twist the plot around to make the each case more complex and interesting. It gets you guessing on who the real culprit is, based on the clues and leads presented.
Anyway, had completed the series to the latest uploaded episode, so now have to wait for the subsequent episode to be loaded up to continue.

Was watching 2 movies by Andy Lau back to back last night (since they are showing on cable TV one after another). Actually both were pretty old films and I had at least watched it a few times. But somehow, these are shows that no matter how many times i had watched it, I still find it entertaining.

I think partly it’s because of the actors and also the plot of the show. That’s how I end up watching the 2 shows back to back.

Especially liked the first show, Protege… Where it really gives an insight to the making of a drug-lord. The second show, though it’s also exciting but somehow the plot at time seems a bit too good to be true, but then again, perhaps that’s what makes the show entertaining.

Another Post….

Year 6s
Seeing the 2nd batch of Year 6s going for their A levels in a few days time. Having a mixture of feelings, as I hope and believe they will not fail us and do well, despite the negative responses from the various Year 6s teachers.
The nice thing about this batch is, they do not really display the tense mood while studying, in fact some of them does joke and chat a bit, so it doesn’t make the environment so stressed up, as compared to their seniors last year.
Furthermore this batch of Year 6s are more friendly and fun-loving, so it doesn’t take long for me to get along with quite a few of them. Joking and chatting briefly whenever they come by the counter.
All the best to the Year 6s!!! You can do it and make us proud!!

Knee Cap
Went for another medical appointment for my knee-cap. Confirm whats wrong with it… It’s CMP!!! Chondromalacia Patellae. Well, nothing serious for sure… Just need to make sure I get it sorted out through physiotherapy, which the doctor insisted that I MUST GO!!
So I will have to listen and go through it this time round…. Without fail!!

ENT
Finally decide to check out this long issue that I have been trying to sweep under the carpet. Not that it had resurfaced up, but upon the advise of a friend, I decide to get an update on the status. Basically it’s my OSA problem… Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
Yes… I know I sounded like I am suffering from quite a bit of ailments. Wait till I blog about my eyes too… Yes!! that is also another issue that I had longed put off from getting a re-checked. So i think in the month of Nov and Dec, I will be paying lots of doctors a visit.
Anyway… Will seek advice on the OSA issue to see what is the latest and if anything can be or need to be done.

This may sound weird or crazy… But somehow I am kind of looking forward to all these medical appointments, not that I am going to be off work, but somehow just like the feeling of going to hospital or medical centers. Ok… Don’t asked me why… But I kind of like the peaceful and serenity of the place. In fact, I used to like Tan Tock Seng Hospital so much, I even contemplated hanging out there just to chill…

Yes… Weird I am….
