Night at the Sleep Lab
December 11, 2011 at 9:35 pm | Posted in Anything Whatever | Leave a commentManaged to get an appointment to bring forward my sleep study test at NUH. Was kind of excited because it’s been 5 years since I done the test. So was looking forward to get ‘hooked up’ again. The other excitement was to see how is my OSA condition now.
So on Friday, reported to NUH Sleep Lab at night for my test, was kind of disappointed upon entering the room I had to spend the night at. Its wasn’t as nice and comfort looking as the lab at TTSH.
Soon I was ‘hooked up’ to get ready for the test. All the wires being ‘pasted’ all over me, the head, the temple, the jaw, the throat, the chest, the finger and the legs. All to test the various response from the body while I sleep.
Well, personally not sure how the result will be liked, but I think my condition is still quite serious. As I am not sure was it the sub-conscious at work or was it the drifting in and out of sleep that resulted in it, but somehow I kind of experience a few of the OSA symptoms.
3 counts of breathlessness where I experience difficulties in breathing
2 counts of waking up due to the ‘choking’ effect of snoring
2 counts of loud snoring – Haa.. I actually can hear my own snoring (can you believe that…. )
Numerous count of waking up and trying to fall asleep.
Will have to wait for the report to be out in 2 weeks time, thereafter will see what the ENT specialist says about the report and what she suggest on addressing the issue.
